Yume no Ōhashi, also known as Dream Bridge, is a pedestrian and bicycle-only bridge in Odaiba, Tokyo spanning the Ariake West Canal. Its size and scenic views are complemented by a historical connection to the 2020 Summer Olympics.

About Dream Bridge

Constructed on October 14, 1996, Dream Bridge links the Aomi and Ariake districts within Koto Ward, and is recognized as Japan’s broadest pedestrian bridge, measuring 360 meters in length and 60 meters in width. It was awarded the Tanaka Prize from the Japan Society of Civil Engineers in 1995 for its engineering excellence.

During the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, the bridge gained further prominence. The Olympic flame was displayed here on July 24 after the opening ceremony, and was ignited for the Paralympics on August 24.

Dream Bridge has been featured in a variety of television dramas and movies, earning a place in pop culture.

Despite its architectural grandeur and occasional spotlight, Dream Bridge remains a less-visited location, offering a peaceful setting for outings, accentuated by its nighttime lighting. Its tranquil paths provide an escape from urban life and a chance to enjoy its engineering and natural surroundings.
